Back-to-School Sudoku for Kids – printable PDF worksheets

Each PDF has 6 puzzles on A4 paper and the answers at the end – just tap, download and print.

Backpacks, pencils and books instead of numbers

In our back-to-school sudoku, the squares hold 🎒 backpacks, ✏️ pencils, 📚 books and 🖍️ crayons. The 6×6 adds 📏 rulers and ✂️ scissors; the 9×9 also has 🏫 a school, 🧮 an abacus and 🥪 a sandwich. The 9×9 is available online; the printable worksheets come in 4×4 and 6×6. The rule stays the same: each picture appears exactly once in every row, every column and every box.

A little puzzle book for the first day

  1. Print a PDF – the 4×4 for kids who are new to puzzles, the 6×6 for those with some practice.
  2. Take off the answer page at the end and keep it for yourself.
  3. Staple the puzzle pages together and tuck them into the backpack with a new pencil.

Because the puzzles use pictures, your child doesn’t need to read or count to solve them.
